this track is called "bow fell", a random improv by Rodleen

Born as Rodleen Giecek to Pamela and Edward Giecek, Getsic first began writing a cappella songs in Granite Falls, Washington where she was raised. The first song that 'came' to her was titled "Entrust Yourself".[1] In addition to her voice, she plays and writes with non-traditional guitar, bass, upright bass, piano, jimbae, and continues to learn other instruments.[2] Her official symbol is the Double You Omen.[3][4]

She has archived hundreds of songs through the Library of Congress and Internet Archive[5]. In some references, her voice is compared to Diamanda Galás[6] and Clare Torry of Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky."[7]

Rodleen performed as the supporting act for artists and bands including Kottonmouth Kings, No Doubt, Ratdog, Phil Lesh, Ani DiFranco, Ozomatli, Hot Tuna, Mickey Hart's Planet Drum, Thelonious Monster, Hellride, Banyan, Fishbone, among others.[8]

Rodleen has worked in the studio and live on stage with music artists including Andy Dick[9] and the Bitches of the Century (sometimes Dick has Rodleen perform as his opening act with the song she wrote for him called "Fucker" / Rodleen appeared on his episode of MTV Cribs playing this song), Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe (she is the featured guest vocalist on album, "Never A Dull Moment", song, "Blue"), Dave Aron of Snoop Dogg, Willie Waldman, John Norwood Fisher, Rick Boston, Deftones (she is the featured guest vocalist in the song, "Knife Party", in their platinum album White Pony)[10], moe., Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, John Perry Barlow, Mike McGinn, Fermin Muguruza of Negu Gorriak (she is the featured guest vocalist in song "Nazio Ibiltaria Naiz", album, Brigadistak Sound System), Isaiah "Ikey" Owens of Sublime and The Mars Volta, Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction, David Torkenowsky, The Jangsta, Mike Watt, H.R. of Bad Brains (nationwide tour 1997-98), Phillip "Fish" Fisher, drummer of Justin Timberlake.[11][12] Rodleen's influence to scream on stage originated from Gary Finneran.[13]

After meeting up with John Perry Barlow and Bob Weir in 1999[14], Rodleen had gained the interest of Grateful Dead Records to produce her as their "first solo artist outside of The Dead". She recorded solo tracks in Bob's home studio and in The Grateful Dead Studios. Rodleen proceeded to play shows opening for bands affiliated with The Grateful Dead and Bill Graham Presents. She performed at Bob Weir's wedding.[15]

In late 2002, Getsic formed a band, Get Sic, with rotating all-star members. The core group consisted of John Norwood Fisher of Fishbone on bass, Freddy Flint of Eek-a-Mouse on guitar, Spacey T of Fishbone on guitar, Kabade of H.R. on keys, and James Gray of Michael Franti & Spearhead on drums. Other members of the band included Dave Aron on clarinet, Willy Waldman on trumpet, Steve Giroux on guitar, Jerad Thompson (SkaDaddyZ) on saxophone, and Ralph Rivers on bass.[16] The band played shows from December 2002 through June 2003.

Rodleen developed an animation television series concept involving her personality and music with cartoonist Edo Fuijkscho and writer Thomas Gerhardt.[17] In 2007 and 2008, she had a radio show on KSOW in Cottage Grove, Oregon[18][19]. Her radio show was called The Seemless Disaster, and she played her own music from cassette tapes, and did a live, seamless mix with random audio and music records[20]. Rodleen has ongoing film collaborations with Australian writer-producer Anita Ondine[21] and American filmmaker Adam Carter Rehmeier[22]. She wrote the screenplay for the Indie Psychological thriller film The Bunny Game[23], which played in a lead role a prostitute.[24]
